How to Specify

When requesting a quote for beam expanders, providing the following information helps us give you an accurate quotation:

Expansion Ratio
Beam diameter magnification
Wavelength
Operating wavelength range
Input Beam Diameter
Input beam size
Coating
AR coating specification
Type
Galilean or Keplerian
Quantity
Number of pieces

Engineering Considerations

Beam expanders change beam diameter and divergence inversely — expanding the beam reduces divergence. Galilean designs are more compact and avoid internal focus (important for high-power lasers). Keplerian designs provide a real focal point for spatial filtering. Verify AR coating matches your laser wavelength. For tunable lasers, consider achromatic designs.
